Is Wheat healthy for you??? --- Absolutraining (Long Beach)

Were we were told a lie?

I have pondered this question many times and along with my research and following my (Paleo) favorite enthusiasts, doctors, biochemists, etc... I may now know the answer :)

So for those who haven't followed along or are new to my site, we are talking about food here! Not only does Absolutraining provide the best fitness programs but we also do one heck of a job educating people on food and what to eat.

The question most people ask me is why is wheat bad? I will typically (if you haven't noticed in previous posts) respond with an explanation referencing science, physiology, and endocrinology. But today I will take a different approach... let's call it "common sense!"

So going back to my most frequently asked question "why is wheat bad?" let's look at what wheat is. Wheat is a plant . Research shows and KNOWS that wheat has been around for ages... wheat has existed during the the biblical era AND a few thousand years prior! --- (I won't get into how wheat evolved into present wheat, the kind that is killing us. Will save that for another day).


So if wheat is a plant then is any whole wheat food product heathy: bread, cookies, pasta, muffins, tortillas? NO it is NOT! Here is how wheat products come to life. First, the seeds (the part that we eat) are stripped off the wheat plant, the seeds are then heated, mashed, hard pressed and rolled... The end result is known as "wheat porridge." This is the earliest record of wheat creation done by the (oldest) hunter and gathers, the Natufians.

My question is how the hell do you go from wheat porridge to a cookie?

There is nothing natural or healthy (as you will soon see) from eating current wheat products. Wheat porridge was the earliest and the cleanest source of wheat to eat, but that was like thousands of years ago. That's right THOUSANDS---- and actually wheat has genetically evolved thanks to geneticists doing lab work in making wheat a lot more TASTY for us to eat :) Wheat has been modified so drastically to enhance sweetness, taste, exclude bitterness, include soft texture, and have also been genetically modified to grow faster and withstand extreme man-made chemical compounds!

But wheat is still considered to be heart healthy and natural. Well...That's just DAMN RIDICULOUS.

Look at it this way, all those fancy claims are misleading. They say wheat is heart healthy because they are comparing it crap like white flour, twinkles and more junk. What would happen when you compare wheat with good old vegetables? Exactly. Vegetables are so nutritious and nutrient loaded that it would make wheat products look like a pair of twinkles!

Know what you are eating. Wheat is not pure. It is man made and has been genetically altered (again trying to keep this simple here) with compounds that you can't say or pronounce. If that does't kill you (which it can) than how about how most wheat products carry extra sugar and syrup additives in their flavored breads, cookies, pasta, etc.

Food quality is important. Todays obese and diabetes epidemic is partly due to soda, junk food, and lack of movement but it is more so influenced but the amount of wheat that we eat. Don't eat wheat!
