Thanksgiving Tips: How to keep the weight off


1. Start the day with a small balanced breakfast
2. Snack periodically- controls appetite and regulates blood sugar levels
3. Do Not starve yourself before the big feast!
4. Avoid eating FAST
5. Pace yourself- we know you want to eat but be selective of your portion sizes
6. Avoid eating late night- during a period of less activity
7. Eat slowly- it controls your digestive system and allows for adequate break down and absorption
8. Avoid drinking CALORIE contained beverages- an average turkey feast is approx. 2500-4000 calories
9. Keep your desserts as a treat and not a stomach stuffer- at this point you can't afford any extra calories
10. Careless eating leads to a damaged metabolism and hormonal function- insulin levels will be through the roof causing an exhausted pancreas, increased fat storage, and poor blood circulation
11. A good rule of thumb to prevent overeating. Ask yourself, "I'm I able to go for a jog?" If the answer is no then re-read # 10
12. Be thankful... Do not let your body suffer
